What will the apprentice be doing?
- Undertaking all levels of maintenance and repairs as well as diagnostics
- Maintaining and repairing vehicles and trailers in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current legislation
- Routine vehicle maintenance to VOSA/DVSA standards
- Preparation and presentation of vehicles and trailers for annual MOT inspection
- Diagnosis of vehicles using computer based diagnostic equipment
- Good housekeeping routines to meet health & safety requirements and maintain a safe workplace
- Ensuring all paperwork is completed to a high standard
- Utilising all personal protective equipment as necessary
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will work towards a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance technician standard with Gateshead College.
Required Qualifications:
GCSE or equivalent English (Grade A*-C/4-9) Essential
GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade A*-C/4-9) Essential
