Over the course of this bootcamp you will develop the following skills:

  • SQL for Data Retrieval: Learn essential SQL commands and techniques to extract, manipulate, and analyse data from databases.
  • Python for Data Analysis: Gain proficiency in Python programming for data analysis, including libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
  • Data Quality and Integration: Understand the principles of data quality management and integration, ensuring accurate and reliable data for analysis.
  • Statistical Analysis: Explore methods of statistical analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights from data.
  • Communication of Insights: Develop skills to effectively communicate data findings through visualisations and reports, preparing you for real-world stakeholder presentations.

Assessment
You will engage in a hands-on project that simulates real-world data challenges, providing you with a portfolio to showcase your skills to potential employers. In addition, you will have the opportunity to study for and take the optional Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals certification to evidence your readiness for industry.

As our bootcamps are delivered via a blended approach we ensure that learners have access to industry standard software. In addition, for in person sessions, our teaching rooms provide a realistic, practical learning environment.

This course is free (fully funded) for independent learners (those not taking the course through their employer).

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be aged 19 or older
  • Live in the North East Combined Authority area (Gateshead, Sunderland, South Tyneside, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland or County Durham)
  • Have the right to work in the UK and meets residency requirements

Employers using bootcamps to upskill their workforce will be required to pay a contribution (10% for SME and 30% for large employers).

If you are an independent learner, you will be guaranteed a job interview in industry. This bootcamp will prepare you for a career as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst and Data Engineer, as well as other more general software related roles.
All applicants are invited to interview and take part in an initial assessment process to check your suitability for this bootcamp. In addition, all applicants are required to have the following: GCSE English and Maths at grade 9-4 (A*-C), or equivalent. We recommend that learners have at least a Level 3 qualification in an IT/Tech related subject, however, we welcome applications from people without this qualification and will consider your interview and initial assessment performance.
