This Skills Bootcamp aims to provide training that equips managers with the necessary skills to enhance their leadership capabilities and adopt a positive, high-performing work environment.

Through a mix of theoretical knowledge, practical exercises and real-world applications, managers will learn to use EI to navigate the complexities of the modern workplace.

Managers will also take part in practical workshops and online sessions and get one to one coaching.

Research shows that managers with greater levels of emotional sensitivity are more successful.

They perform better and have better conflict resolution skills.

With their enhanced interpersonal and communication skills, they build stronger long-term relationships, both within their own teams and with external clients/customers.

They manage stress better and have healthier staff.

Emotional intelligence is also important for resilience and making logical, ethical decisions.

Training aspiring managers to develop their emotional intelligence will create a pipeline of talent who’ll be ready to support the growth in the North East as part of the Levelling Up Agenda.

These effective leaders will ensure staff retention is improved, and innovation and collaboration are strong.

The ability to connect emotionally with employees and lead with emotional intelligence is essential for leadership, effectiveness.

Dates
This course will start on the Thursday 9th January 10-6pm and will run for 9 weeks.

This course is free (fully funded) for independent learners (those not taking the course through their employer).

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be aged 19 or older
  • Live in the North East Combined Authority area (Gateshead, Sunderland, South Tyneside, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland or County Durham)
  • Have the right to work in the UK and meets residency requirements
  • Employers using bootcamps to upskill their workforce will be required to pay a contribution (10% for SME and 30% for large employers).
