Over the course of two years, you’ll engage in a mix of classroom learning and hands-on experience through an industry placement of at least 45 days.
This invaluable opportunity will provide you with the transferable skills needed to stand out to potential employers, as well as prepare you for further study or higher apprenticeships.

You’ll also gain practical experience with programming concepts using Python, further developing your computational thinking skills.
That’s not all – our T Level in Software Development will also provide you with a solid foundation in business context, including how businesses use a range of digital skills.
You’ll learn about digital concepts and environments, agile project management, system security, and investigate different testing methodologies.
You’ll also have the opportunity to complete accredited Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) exams in the following subject areas:
The core content is assessed through an examination and a practical employer-set project.
The occupational specialism is assessed through a project that is created in conjunction with digital employers.
After successfully completing this course, you could progress onto a university course:
5 GCSEs at grades 5-9 including English and maths
As the course is a T Level, you’ll undertake an industry placement of at least 45 day putting into practice what you’ve learnt in the classroom.

Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free or reduced price course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.
If you already have a full level 3 qualification and are aged 19 years over, you can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan or pay the fee upfront in full and qualify for a 10% discount.
