Join our professional salon team at Botanica and immerse yourself in our advanced barbering training programme designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in the barbering industry.
Here’s what you’ll learn in our advanced barbering programme:
Course runs Wednesdays 9.30-5pm
A Level 2 Diploma in Barbering, an interview with our team and good communications skills.
If English is not your first language, you will also need a Level 1 ESOL qualification.
Theory is assessed through multiple choice exam questions with the option of written assignments.
Practical assessments will be carried out within a realistic working environment against awarding body standards.
You may be asked to carry out case studies and research work at home.
All courses are delivered by our friendly, highly skilled and experienced salon teaching team. With years of experience under their belts, they ensure your learning experience is packed with the latest trends and techniques and are able to adapt their teaching styles to accommodate all types of learning, making your experience as personal and enjoyable as possible.
We work with a wide range of professional hairdressing companies such as Milk Shake and Wella, plus many more to give you the product knowledge and skills expected by employers in the industry.
All practical sessions are taught in our commercial salon Botanica, complete with a dedicated barbering area and equipment.

On complete of this course you will be qualified to step into the workplace as a barber.
An interview is essential for this course.
A uniform is needed for this course.
We will let you know the cost of this when you enrol.
There will also be the opportunity to take part in bespoke training with our professional partners Wella and Milk Shake which may be an additional cost.
Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.
If you don’t qualify for funding help and have to pay for course, you could pay a 25% deposit and four consecutive monthly standing order payments for the balance. The course fee must be over £100 to qualify.

If this is a Level 3 qualification and you may qualify for free course fees and there may be grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances. If you already have a full level 3 qualification and are aged 19 or over you can pay the fee in full upfront and receive a 10% discount. Or you can apply for an Adult Advanced Learner Loan, a low interest loan with no upfront fees that you pay back in installments once you’re earning. Those aged under 18 years old are not eligible to study this course as it is a part time programme.
